1965 Mustang Fastback / 289 4 speed +
Well, my vehicle is a 1965 Mustang Fastback. I bought it about four years
ago when I turned fifteen. The previous owner simply didn't have the time to
restore it, and with good reason, the vehicle had been sitting for a couple
decades and needed serious work. My father and I did the majority of the work,
except for the finishing bodywork and paint. It's still a work in progress
(and always will be), but I've put GT350 side stripes and various other
modifications in order to turn into a Shelby. In the
future I hope to do some engine work, aluminum heads, cam, roller rockers,
ect. Currently, the Stang has a 289 bored .030 over, with a demon carb and
Edlebrock manifold. It has the original toploader
four speed, which is a pleasure to hammer and can take loads of abuse as long
as I'm willing to change the clutch, which I seem to
do often. I love and cherish the Mustang and I am so thankful to have been
able to have the privilege of restoring it. The
friends and experiences I have had have been invaluable, and I feel I am truly
blessed to be a part of this wonderful hobby. I am a gear head for life.
P.S.- If your ever out in the Phoenix area, your more than welcome to stop by
and burn some rubber.
